Monroe f the public attended the meeting; Raymond Hoesten introduced himself and stated that he would be sworn in next week as a Newtown appointee to the Lake Zoar Authority.


Marine Patrol Report: none

Publicity and Public Awareness:

The Lake Drawdown is scheduled for Friday, October 15 through Sunday, October 24,2010.

Coast Guard Auxiliary Report:

Boating Courses will start again in 2011.


Boats, Motors and Maintenance:

Robert Bowolick submitted a report  in which he stated that he met with Glenn Ganz  and Carl Hornbecker at Lakeside Marina regarding the maintenance requirements , winterization etc; Unit 1 will remain in the water for emergencies until it is winterized; he also made a visual inspection of the boats and noted that there are no visible operational safety issues and made written recommendations regarding needed repairs and maintenance ; he will submit a written budget request at the November LZA Meeting.

Treasurer’s Report:

Robert Barnes, Chairman, reported that the Insurance bills have been paid and the Insurance reimbursement for the lower unit replacement  costs had been received.A motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report as reported was made by Carolyn Wilson,Secretary, (seconded by Robert Bowolick) was approved unanimously.

New Business:

Robert Barnes, Chairman, reported that a DEP Swim Area Permit was granted to Mr Pfister,Cedarhurst. The Leaps of Faith Permit  as submitted by Joel Zeisler, was signed by Robert Barnes, Chairman,; the  2011 dates scheduled are on Saturdays from 9a.m. to 4 p.m. on June11,July 9,July 23, August 6, August 27 and September 10; rain dates will be on Sunday.  Robert Mouchantat, Vice Chairman, has agreed to resign as Vice Chairman and accept the Treasurer’s position ; a motion was made by Robert Bowolick( seconded by Carolyn Wilson,Secretary) ; motion was approved unanimously. Robert Barnes, Chairman,made a motion to appoint Bernie Lintzner as Vice Chairman(seconded by Carolyn Wilson,Secretary); the motion passed unanimously.

Grants:

Bernie Lintzner, Vice Chairman, discussed the Algae Grant  and the periodic First Light Shoreline Plan Meetings ; Raymond Hoesten,new Newtown member, is interested in attending the meetings.
Unfinished Business:

Maryanne Drayton Rogers, Oxford First Selectman,has coordinated a meeting with the four Town Selectmen on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 3 p.m. at the Oxford Town Hall ; Robert Barnes, Chairman, and Bernie Lintzner, Vice Chairman, will attend.The Initial LZA Budget will be presented at November’s meeting by Robert Mouchantat,Treasurer , then the LZA Budget Committee will meet and review it. The LZA Bylaws will be distributed this month by Carolyn Wilson,Secretary. Jerry Isleib’s tabled motion from September’s meeting was made(seconded by Ed Kusinski)  passed unanimously ;Jerry will coordinate an LZA Informational  Special  Public Meeting at possibly the Stevenson Fire House on Nov 16/17/18,2010 at 7:00 p.m.; Jerry will notify Carolyn Wilson,Secretary, regarding a scheduled date, location and time. Robert Barnes, Chairman, reported that the Weed Harvester was taken out of the lake on Sunday and stored; he will contact Dave De Feo regarding budget items.

A motion was made by Robert Bowolick ( seconded by Jerry Isleib) to adjourn the meeting;motion passed unanimously; Robert Barnes, Chairman adjourned the meeting at 8:17 p.m.
